Before God Can Bless You

You’ve prayed. You’ve persisted. You’ve fought to stay hopeful in the middle of the financial storm. And yet, breakthrough still feels just out of reach. But what if your current struggle is not God’s rejection but preparation? Read this week's blog and discover three traits God looks for before He entrusts wealth to His children.

You’ve prayed. You’ve persisted. You’ve fought to stay hopeful in the middle of the financial storm. And yet, breakthrough still feels just out of reach. But what if your current struggle is not God’s rejection but preparation?

Many believers ask for financial abundance, but few are willing to become the kind of person who can carry it. Before God blesses you with wealth, He develops your heart. Because money, for all its power, is merely a tool - and a dangerous one in the wrong hands.

That’s why Scripture warns, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.” - 1 Timothy 6:10 (NLT)

The danger isn’t in the money itself, but in how we treat it. There are three traits God looks for before He entrusts wealth to His children: generosity, stewardship, and faithfulness.

#1 Generosity

God doesn’t respond to greed; He responds to giving. Generosity isn’t about manipulating God into blessing you; it’s about demonstrating that money doesn’t have your heart.

Scripture is clear: “God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” - 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)

The goal of biblical prosperity isn’t luxury. It’s overflow, for the sake of others. That’s real prosperity: having your needs met and enough left over to bless those around you.

#2 Stewardship

It’s not enough to give; you must also manage well what you have. Some cry out for financial miracles but haven’t learned to handle money wisely. They give generously, but they also overspend, live beyond their means, and blame the devil for what discipline could fix.

Jesus said, “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given.” - Matthew 25:29 (NLT)

God is a God of order, and His blessing flows where there is diligence.

#3 Faithfulness

Perhaps the most overlooked key. Some give for a few months and stop. Others budget for a few weeks and quit. But breakthrough belongs to the consistent.

“At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” - Galatians 6:9 (NLT).

The blessing isn’t for those who try; it’s for those who persist. If God hasn’t brought the financial breakthrough yet, it’s not because He’s ignoring your prayers. It may be because He’s still forming your character. When you walk in generosity, master stewardship, and hold fast in faithfulness, you position yourself for the release.

So don’t just ask God to bless your finances. Ask Him to build you into the kind of person He can trust with abundance.

Planted in Truth, Positioned for Increase

There is a way to walk in biblical financial fruitfulness that’s not bound by market swings or economic downturns. It’s time we stop letting fear dictate our mindset and start building our lives on unshakable truth.

All around the world, believers are feeling uncertain about their financial future—worried about jobs, the economy, and how they’ll provide for their families. But let me remind you of something powerful: your source is not the system. Your source is God.

There is a way to walk in biblical financial fruitfulness that’s not bound by market swings or economic downturns. It’s time we stop letting fear dictate our mindset and start building our lives on unshakable truth.

Before diving in, let’s be clear: yes, the message of biblical prosperity has been abused. We’ve all seen the gimmicks, the greed-driven appeals, and the guilt tactics used to pressure people into giving. But just because something has been misused doesn’t mean we throw it out. We go back to the Word. Always.

Now let’s talk about the real principles of financial increase according to Scripture.

1. Generosity – The First Key

2 Corinthians 9:6–7 tells us, “A farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.”

God’s economy operates on the principle of sowing and reaping. But generosity isn’t about manipulating God or triggering some magical transaction. It’s about who you become.

When you give generously—with a cheerful heart—you begin to flow with God’s nature. 2 Corinthians 9:8 continues, “And God will generously provide all you need... and plenty left over to share with others.”

That’s biblical prosperity: having your needs met and enough left over to bless others. Not luxury for self-glory, but provision for Kingdom impact.

2 Corinthians 9:10–11 drives it home: God gives seed to the sower and produces a harvest—not just of provision, but of generosity in you.

2. Stewardship – The Second Key

Many people want increase, but few want responsibility. We forget that God promotes faithful stewards.

In Matthew 25:14–30, Jesus shares the Parable of the Talents. The master rewards those who wisely manage what they’re given—and rebukes the one who buried his out of fear.

Matthew 25:29 says, “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance.” That’s stewardship.

You can’t ask God for more if you’re mismanaging what you already have. Whether it’s your income, your space, or your time—treat it like it belongs to Him. Because it does.

3. Faithfulness – The Third Key

Generosity and stewardship are not one-time acts. They are lifestyles that require faithfulness over time. You can't expect to sow a seed on Monday and harvest it on Tuesday. Biblical increase works by process, not by pressure.

Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

That’s the key—if we do not give up. Faithfulness is what activates the promise. The seed is good. The soil is good. But you’ve got to give it time.

When you live generously, steward well, and remain faithful in applying those principles consistently—God brings the increase.

Final Thought

Proverbs 10:22 declares, “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” We’re not chasing money. We’re walking in principles that position us to be fruitful, faithful, and free.

Want to see increase? Live generously. Steward well. Stay faithful. And remember—your source is God.

All around the world, lives are being changed. People are experiencing salvation, healing, and deliverance through the power of the gospel, and it's happening because of God’s faithfulness and the continued generosity of believers like you.

The Coming Financial Crisis?

If you’re allowing fear to infect your heart, if you’re allowing the talk of doom and gloom to rob you of peace, it’s time to remember Who we serve. Sure, be a good steward and prepare for challenges. But never be consumed by fear.

Many are talking about a coming financial crisis. What is true, what is false, and what is exaggerated isn’t always easy to discern. The media stokes fear. The unbeliever frets.

What’s coming? I don’t know. All I know is this:

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (Psalm 37:25, KJV)

Whether the sky is truly falling or not (Personally, I’m always hopeful), we believers don’t worry as the world worries. We have the guarantee of God’s provision and protection.

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. (Matthew 6:31-32, NLT)

If you’re allowing fear to infect your heart, if you’re allowing the talk of doom and gloom to rob you of peace, it’s time to remember Who we serve. Sure, be a good steward and prepare for challenges. But never be consumed by fear.

No matter what happens around you, you can have peace within. God is in control, and He has never failed. For the believer, the future is always bright.

David Diga Hernandez presents 10 reasons why you should support the spreading of the gospel through this ministry.

1. Win Souls

When you invest financially into this ministry, you’re helping us to spread the gospel message and win more souls. Your sacrifice could change someone’s eternity.

2. Give Efficiently

Because our ministry spreads the gospel through newer, more effective and more exciting forms of media, every dollar of your investment goes further. This ministry is excellent soil for sowing.

3. Impact Generations

By supporting this ministry, you are ensuring that the gospel message will thrive and spread throughout future generations - no matter how dark the world gets.

4. Preserve Uniqueness

This ministry is a uniquely anointed ministry. Through events and media, this ministry both builds the believer and wins the lost. This ministry has a rare balance of both the pure gospel and demonstrations of power.

5. Demonstrate Love

Money is a test of your heart. That’s why many become offended at requests for offerings. But when you give to the gospel, you are demonstrating your love for the Lord. (Matthew 6:21)

6. Grow Faith

By stepping out in giving by faith despite the season, you are putting fear in check. As you grow in your giving, you grow in your faith. Don’t consider the season; just step out in faith. (Ecclesiastes 11:4)

7. Store Treasures

By investing your finances into the gospel, you are storing up for yourself eternal treasure that can never be corrupted. (1 Timothy 6:19)

8. Please God

Faith pleases God, and giving sacrificially is an act of faith. (Hebrews 11:6)

9. Overcome Mammon

Many complain when Christian leaders raise finances for the gospel. But by choosing to obey the Lord in your giving, you overcome the spirit of mammon and destroy greed in your life. (Matthew 6:24)

10. Receive Blessings

Though you don’t give just to receive, the scripture does promise that God will meet the needs of the giver - and bless them with enough left over to share with others. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

3 Keys to Financial Breakthrough

And I have good news for you: even in these times, God wants you to be fruitful. To His children, God gives peace during the storm, clarity during the chaos and prosperity during the famine. But there are three Biblical keys to claiming this God-offered fruitfulness.

These are interesting, historic and uncertain times. No hour has ever been so key, so pivotal in God’s agenda for the ages. And, within this crucial moment, God has chosen to purposefully place you.

He placed you here and now, because He knew He could trust you to obey Him, to follow His Word by faith.

And I have good news for you: even in these times, God wants you to be fruitful. To His children, God gives peace during the storm, clarity during the chaos and prosperity during the famine. But there are three Biblical keys to claiming this God-offered fruitfulness.

#1 Stewardship

Stewardship is taking care of what you have, doing what you’re supposed to do with what you have and treating what you have like it’s what you want.

I find it interesting that many believers, who know that God is able, act as if He is unable when it comes to their finances. When we give to the gospel out of what we have now, we will be given more. I feel safe in saying that how you treat the gospel is how God will treat your finances. We say, “Bless me, and I’ll give.” God says, “Give, and I’ll bless you.”

We can’t expect more if we cannot obey with the little that we have.

We all want to be in a place where money is no longer a worry, where we can fund the Kingdom and bless our families. And God wants to take us to such a place.

But can God trust you with abundance? You’ll know the answer to that question by whether or not you give in time of need. When you can give with what you have now, it is a sign to God that you are ready for more.

“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
~ Matthew 25:29

#2 Generosity

Without generosity, the stewardship of your finances requires no faith. For example, for some people, giving even $5 requires faith. To others, the giving of $5 is hardly even a reason for thought. Generosity is proportional. So if what you give doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t require faith to give it. And without faith, how can your financial management be pleasing to God? It’s impossible to please God without faith.

Generosity releases the flow of God’s provision in your life.

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
~ Proverbs 11:25

Be the blessing that you want someone to be to you. Send that check in the mail, that random check you’re always hoping to find, to someone else. In the words of Jesus, “Give, and it shall be given.”

# 3 Faithfulness

Finally, in order to unlock the blessing of fruitfulness, you must be faithful. Faithfulness cannot be had in days, weeks or months. It takes years to have faithfulness.

Some people begin to sow into ministries and, after only a few months, stop, because their financial situation doesn’t seem to be getting “blessed”. But what God blesses is long-term generosity and stewardship. Though you may not see the results you want to see, keep sowing. It’s usually when you’ve come to what seems to be the end of your perseverance that God brings the breakthrough.

A Challenge

So, dear friend, I want to challenge you today to begin or continue in a lifestyle of giving to the gospel. Give to your local church faithfully. Support missionaries and global Christian projects. Involve your finances in the gospel, and God will involve Himself in your finances.

No matter how far your breakthrough may seem, a single step of faith can take you all the way to a miracle.
