Fear has crept into the Church, often disguised as eschatology and end times warnings. Many believers today walk around thinking we’re backed into a corner, bracing for escape, convinced that darkness is growing too strong, too fast, for light to keep up. But this fear-driven mindset doesn’t come from heaven; it comes from misinformation. Because the truth is that we’re not losing. We’re advancing.
Scripture doesn't present a Church that's slowly retreating into irrelevance, waiting for rescue. It paints the picture of a victorious Church, one that plunders the house of the strongman (Matthew 12:29), one that expands like yeast in dough, like a mustard seed growing into a mighty tree (Matthew 13:31-33). The kingdom doesn't shrink. The kingdom grows.
Jesus Christ already reigns. Philippians 2:9-11 tells us plainly: "Therefore God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Not someday. Now. His authority is not pending. It’s present. He reigns, and His kingdom is expanding.
Yes, evil may intensify. Yes, darkness may shout louder. But the light always shines brighter. John 1:5 declares: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Stop agreeing with the narrative of fear. Start agreeing with heaven’s perspective. Satan is bound. The cross embarrassed the kingdom of hell. The Church is not in survival mode. We’re in takeover mode.
The gates of hell will not prevail against us because gates don’t move. We’re the ones advancing. The enemy isn’t storming. He’s defending what little ground he has left. And every time a soul is saved, every time truth is preached, every time we disciple a generation, we take even more from Satan's ever-weakening grip.
We don’t preach from panic. We preach from power. We don’t retreat from culture. We invade it. We don’t long for escape. We long for expansion.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-19, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…"
His reign is our reason to move forward in boldness. So no more shrinking back. No more hopeless rhetoric. We are not the defeated Church. We are the victorious Bride of Christ.
