Passing the Test of Faith

Nobody talks about this part of calling: They may mock you behind your back, try to convince you to lower your expectations, or talk you out of what is grand so that you can embrace what they call “safe.” The truth is that your faith might just be what’s exposing their doubt. Like you, Joseph was a dreamer. God spoke to him about a great future. Because he was favored, because he believed wholeheartedly in the divine dreams he had been given, those around him despised him.

“18 When Joseph’s brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. 19 ‘Here comes the dreamer!’ they said.’” - Genesis 37:18-19 (NLT).

When others doubt you and mock you for believing big, don’t be discouraged. This is a part of the process. This is a test you must pass before God can entrust you with the fulfillment of the dream. If you can keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, if you can resist the urge to become bitter or vindictive, if you can keep your child-like approach to obedience, then the dream will come to pass. Never apologize for putting big faith in a big God.
