3 Biblical Keys to Experiencing a Financial Breakthrough

3 Biblical Keys to Experiencing a Financial Shift

Don’t Believe the Lie About Your Financial Future

Don’t believe the lie that you’ll never own a home, that you’ll never have a good-paying job, that you’ll never make enough to have a healthy marriage and family life. The enemy has lied to a generation, causing them to be fearful and discouraged about their financial future.

You don’t have to stay stuck. Whether you’re struggling financially or you’re praying for an increase in order to meet a noble goal for your life, business, or ministry, there are 3 simple Biblical keys that you can begin applying today to see a breakthrough.

3 Biblical Keys to Experiencing a Financial Breakthrough

#1 Generosity

I understand. Some have abused the message of financial sowing and reaping, so many believers have become cynical about the subject of giving. But that doesn’t change the fact that sowing and reaping is Biblical. Paul wrote this about financial giving:

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” - 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT)

And this is these are the results:

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” - 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)

This also results from your giving:

“…In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.” - 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NLT)

The size of your financial increase is directly proportional to your giving. That’s the Bible. End of story. So don’t allow greed or fear to keep you from sowing into ministries and churches doing God’s work.

#2 Stewardship

I’ve noticed something: generally speaking, not in every case, those who are naturally good at managing money find generosity challenging. And those who are naturally generous have difficulty managing their money. Again, not always the case, but I think that demonstrates that we all have ways we can improve.

What good will it do if God continues to increase while you continue to pile on credit card debt? How will anything change if, when God puts money in your hands, you squander it by getting things you don’t need?

Yes, we ought to be generous, but we also need to manage our money well. Have a plan and stick to it:

“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” - Proverbs 21:5 (NLT)

#3 Faithfulness

Finally, there’s faithfulness. You can’t just be generous one time and expect to be entrusted with more resources. You can’t just manage your finances properly for a month and expect to be wealthy. Rather, you must practice both generosity and good stewardship consistently, faithfully.

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.” - Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

Can God bring forth an instant miracle? Sure. But God will only bless you when you’ve become someone who can handle the blessing with generosity, good stewardship, and faithfulness. That’s the Biblical path to financial prosperity.
